Why Is It Important?

It is essential for the health and wellness the entire organisation to ensure that the workplace is drug and alcohol free. Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, employers have a duty of care to ensure a safe working environment and to protect their workers, customers and the general public.

The Nurses at OccCare are NZQA qualified to perform workplace Drug and Alcohol testing.  OccCare performs onsite drug screening then couriers samples off to ESR or Southern Canterbury Laboratory for confirmation and actual levels if onsite tests returns a non-negative result.
